Tie Dye

Oh!! this is sooo fun! a little bit of purple, some orange there, and voila! a tie dye t-shirt! hey guys! today's post is going to  be very interesting. Its.. TIE DYE.. Here is some info and instructions..

Tie Dye, is a  way you can colour, design or mix patterns or/and colours. The term "tie dye" is very self-explanatory. You "tie" a cloth/dress/t-shirt, and "dye" it with colours.

Materials Needed:

rubber bands
food colouring (or paint powder (no normal paint), ink)
Water (not needed for food colouring or ink)
T-shirt (cotton recommended)
gloves

Steps:

a.  Ink and food colouring

1. First, wet the t-shirt in normal water, and then pinch the middle of the t-shirt and twist it like using a screw driver. It will create a spiral shape/pattern

2.  Next, put the rubber bands any way you want. For example: straight, diagonal and horizontal.

3. Finally, Put on your gloves, take the colouring and start dying your shirt.

4. After dying, leave the rubber band on, and squeeze the extra colour into the sink. Next with the rubber band still on, hang it out to dry for 6-7 hours.

5. After it is all dry, take off the rubber bands. Your tie dye t-shirt is ready.

b.  Paint Powder

So, the steps are basically the same thing, except one extra step for this one.

1. First, put some paint powder (colour of your choice) half-way in a squeezy bottle. if you have, or you can use spray bottles, or empty medicine capsule bottles (I would not recommend it). And then, fill it the whole way with water and shake it up.

2. Next, wet the t-shirt in normal water, and then pinch the middle of the t-shirt and twist it like using a screw driver. It will create a spiral shape/pattern

3. After that, put the rubber bands any way you want. For example: straight, diagonal and horizontal.

4. Finally, Put on your gloves, take the colouring and start dying your shirt.

5. After dying, leave the rubber band on, and squeeze the extra colour into the sink. Next with the rubber band still on, hang it out to dry for 6-7 hours.

6. After it is all dry, take off the rubber bands. Your tie dye t-shirt is ready.

Like I said, one extra step. Send me your tie dye pictures through my email. So that's it for this post, See you next post, Byee!
