Embedded Clauses

Hey Guys! today, I am going to tell you about Embedded clauses. there is some info, examples and an exercise to complete.

Embedded clauses are placed within the main clause in a sentence. They do not make sense as stand-alone sentences, unlike main clauses. For example: The giraffe, who was the tallest in the zoo, towered over the other animals. The underlined part of the sentence is the embedded clause.

5 words that have to be placed in an Embedded clause

Who - A person or people.

Which - An object, a place or animal.

That - An object, a place or a person.

When - A time.

Where - A place.

Exercise Time:

Look at this picture of a mother bear and her cubs. Make an Embedded clause sentence with the picture, kind of a description. Remember to follow the rules.

Example: The mother bear and her children, who were climbing some trees, were hiding in the grass. Put the sentence you came up with in the comment section down below.

So, That's it for this post. See you next time, which is the next post. Hey! that was an embedded clause! Bye now!..
